Wealth

Wealth is a hidden stat estimating the wellbeing of yourself, your family, and your Earldom. In addition to automatic fluctuation, you can increase the value in the following ways:

  • Upgrading your Earldom
    • Construct roads.
    • Construct canals.
    • Construct canals and roads.
    • Construct industry: "Why not go bigger?"
      • Requires Nobility >= 40
      • Required for courting Lady Lucia Druiloch, unless you capture the King of Valmagne.
  • Capturing the King of Valmagne.
  • Dealing with the knights in Halsworth.
    • Move them to other plots of land.
    • Evict them from their lands.
  • Dowries.
    • Lady Ida.
    • Lady Lucia.
  • Enforcing Lady Cailen's claim on Sauveur.
    • Must have a son with Lady Cailen.
  • Beat Sir Samael in the joust.
    • Must have Valour >= 64 to advance to Sir Samael.
    • Valour or Courtesy or Nobility >= 70,  or Piety >= 65
  • Corruption in the Council.
    • When the monarch pushes for reforms, choose "I am not convinced" and the nobles will offer you a bribe.
  • Marry your sister to Sir Arthur.
    • Modest bride price is less than half the offered bride price.
  • Appoint a new Sheriff in Aswicdale.
    • Dudda provides major boost.
    • Brother Thomas provides moderate boost.
    • Algar Mason provides barely anything.

    • Must have spoken to her at the feast in Valmagne.
    • Requires Nobility >= 54.

  • Baron Aswicdale / Earl of Aswicdale.
    • Gained through story.
  • Baron of Steminster.
    • When attending the melee before the civil war, choose to taunt the enemy.
      • Requires Courtesy >= 64, and Nobility >= 55.
    • Defeat the monarch in the first tourney after the civil war.
      • Requires Valour >= 70.
      • Requires Courtesy < 65, and Humility < 50.
  • Protector of Dumas.
    • Have a son with Marguerite, and enforce her claim to King Richard.
      • To have a son with Marguerite in time, you must have slept with her at the victory feast in Aurget.
      • Even if you do sleep with Marguerite, there is a random element to the conception. She may not get pregnant.
    • Duel the knight for the title and win.
      • Axe strategies:
        • Aggressive: Requires Valour >= 70, or Valour >= 60.
        • Neutral: Requires Humility >= 60
        • Defensive: Requires Valour >= 60
      • Sword strategies:
        • Aggressive: Requires Valour >= 60

  • Baron of Oxbridge.
    • Side with Stephen during the War of Succession.
    • March after Augustine directly after being placed on Stephen's council.
    • Win the Siege of Oxbridge.
  • Baron of Darrow.
    • Must already be Baron of Steminster.
    • Defeat the monarch in the first tourney after the civil war.
      • Requires Valour >= 70.
      • Requires Courtesy < 65, and Humility < 50.
  • Royal Council Titles.
    • Lord High Chancellor.
      • Side with Augustine, Stephen, or John in the War of Succession.
      • Keep your stats balanced, with none of Nobility, Valour, or Courtesy stats above 70.

War of Succession

  • How do I get to the crusade?
    • Lose the War of Succession.
    • If you side with Augustine in the war, do not carry out the murder of nobles.
  • How do I win the war?
    • Find allies, first and foremost. Even before the war starts, make friends.
      • Seek allies in court. They are a major boon to you in the war.
      • If you have courted and married Lady Bruna of Mertora, her brother will march to your aid with an army of crusade veterans.
      • If you have married Lady Abigayle, the Ayerstones will offer to finance an increased levy of troops.
      • When in doubt: Mercenaries.
    • Have Valour >= 70, and/or Nobility >= 65. Play to your strengths.
